Hi I'm Nancy C-D

I am a mother of 6, the grandmother of 18 and great-grandmother of one adorable little 2+ year old boy and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired Public Health Nurse and worked many years teaching young moms how to keep healthy during pregnancy and raise happy, healthy children by being good parents. Presently, I volunteer at my grandsons’ school in a First Grade classroom, work one day a week in a Family History Center close to my home, and update our class-list from my high-school graduating class along with helping to organize our annual class-reunions. I love to read books to children, play games with my grandchildren and take them to live theater productions. One of my favorite quotes is: “Isn’t it good just to be alive on a day like this?” by Miss Anne Shirley.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Christian home and my mother taught me “God is Love.” Mormons are Christians, but not everyone knows or believes that. I have been a Latter Day Saint (Mormon) for 38 years. Joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints so many years ago was one of the best and most spiritual decisions I ever made in my life. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I also know that He knows me by name and loves me. I know that if I follow His example and live by His teachings that I will be happy. During some of my darkest hours, I felt His love and strength helping to bring me into the light (His Light). When the missionaries taught me about the LDS Church and answered my questions, I knew what they were telling me was true and after I joined the Church, I felt as though I had come home.

How I live my faith

A portion of the 13th Article of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is as follows-“We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; If there is anything virtuous, lovely or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.” Daily, I try to live by this statement of my faith. Presently, I am very blessed to be a leader along with three terrific women in the Relief Society of our ward. The Relief Society is the women’s organization in the LDS Church. The purpose of Relief Society is threefold: 1.to increase faith and personal righteousness. 2.to strengthen families and homes and 3.to provide relief by seeking out and helping those in need. It is an honor and privilege to work in this wonderful organization.
