Hi I'm Rahei

I was born and raised in Tahiti, French Polynesia. I'm studying at BYUH. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a little girl from the Pacific. I've traveled a lot when I was young til now because I love that. I love discovering new places, new landscapes but also meet new people. I love talking to people, know their stories, and even help them if in need. I like feeling that I'm useful. My passion is nature. I just love being outside, swimming in the ocean, hiking, snowboarding, wake-boarding. I am a really active person. I enjoy this connection we have with Mother Nature and want to preserve it. I'm currently doing volunteer work while waiting for my husband who has one year left. I graduated in Peacebuilding and Entrepreneurship at BYUH. I love this place!! It is so special!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents divorced when I was 11. My dad was never home before that. He was in a quest of something he has not find yet, but he left his family on the side. When they got divorced he tried to kill my mother. Since that time, I did not talk to him until I was 15. My mother raised my two little sisters and me all by herself. I had the responsibilities of the oldest daughter with a single mother. Life was pretty tough for a very long time especially because of my hatred towards my dad and even the entire male gender. Coming to BYUH has helped me to find the peace, serenity and the spirituality I was looking for all those years. Even if I was a protestant originally, I wasn't really active. I had my own beliefs but not faith. And that's what I've found joining the church : faith, hope, peace and true happiness. My conversion's story is a long story but the more I was praying for answers, with a sincere heart, the more I had ALL of my prayers answered. Too much to be only coincidences. Also, I had wonderful missionaries, even my church friends, who are so special to me today. I was surrounded by angels. It is just amazing how people can be honest and sincere, and do care about you. I've never found that anywhere else such amazing good people than coming here. It has changed my life forever and I will never be enough grateful for all those blessings.

How I live my faith

I try to be a light; to inspire people and influence them to do good, to be the best they can be. I go to church every Sunday to be fed spiritually. I try to fulfill my calling as a Relief Society First Counselor with faith and compassion for the sisters in our ward. I attend often temple sessions, and am in the process of being a temple worker. I read my scriptures every morning to feel inspired and to start my day on the right foot. I pray everyday so that I will be helped to do the Lord's work, to build His kingdom, to spread peace and joy around me. I pray to have my questions answered because I know they will, because He loves us and He wants us to be happy
