Hi I'm Jay

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired and going to go on a mission to South Korea with my wife. We have 7 children and 21 grandchildren, family is what life is about. I have a college degree in Electronics and Education, and have worked in Computers for about 25 years. I enjoy fishing, gardening and working with computers. I like to help my friends with their computer problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the LDS church when I was 8 yr.s old, so I have been a member all my life. I have always been very grateful to my parents for teaching me the Restored Gospel when I was a child. Although when I was about 22 years old I had to find my own testimony of the truthfulness of the church and it's teachings. I know that God lives, as does Jesus Christ. They are real and will communicate with us if we ask them and do what they want us to do. I also know that Joseph Smith is and was a prophet of God. I know the Mormon Church is correct and has the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ as it's doctrine. I have had the Lord's spirit testify to my spirit that the above is true. The Church answers the questions: Where did I come from? Why am I here? and Where am I going, after this life? No other Church that I know of can do that. To me the Gospel of Jesus Christ is Life, not just a way of Life. My testimony means everything to me, without it I would be lost in this world of different philosophies and ideas. I am not smart enough myself to figure out what is truth and what isn't without help from my Heavenly Father and His authorized representatives on the earth, which are Apostles and Prophets.

How I live my faith

I have been a leader in my ward for about 9 years or so, but I have been released from all my calling to go on our mission to South Korea. I normally go see about 5 or 6 families each month as a home teacher in the ward. Also, I usually get up early on Sunday and go to leadership meetings before church starts. I have been a scoutmaster a couple of times when I was younger and could keep up with the youth, and enjoyed getting out in the 'woods' with the boys.
