Hi I'm Camille

I'm a devoted wife and busy mom. I love reading, photography, water/snow skiing and spending time with my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised by great parents in Utah along with 4 other siblings, who are my best friends today. My baby sister had down-syndrome and only lived 2.5 years; we still think of her often and feel like she is a guardian angel for our family. I attended Ricks College before I left to serve a life changing LDS mission in Rancagua Chile. Strangely enough, it was while I was on my mission that I realized who the man was that I wanted to marry, a good friend of mine from high school! After returning home, I started school at BYU which is where my future husband was also attending. After a tumultuous few months of dating, we were finally both on the same page! We got engaged then married 2 months later, then moved to California the week after. We spent 4 yrs there, where our oldest son was born, then moved to Colorado where we are currently. Since then we have had 3 more sons born to our family. The last 2 boys are identical twins. When I was 27 weeks pregnant with the twins, we discovered that they had something called twin to twin transfusion. After spending 2 weeks in the hospital on close monitor, they were born. Unfortunately after 4 days, it was apparent that one baby wasn't going to make it. The hardest thing I have ever done in my life was saying good-bye to my son. I still think about him daily and miss him, but I am consoled knowing I will see him again. Just like with my sister, I feel like he is near us and is watching over us.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, because I believe it is the true church. It is the same church that Christ himself established, only now it has been restored on the Earth in these latter days. I believe the Book of Mormon and the Bible are of God, they work together in testifying of Christ. Aside from my testimony, I am also a Mormon because it has brought happiness and peace into my life. I am not filled with doubts or concerns, and it is because of the gospel teachings that I know who I am, where I came from and where I am going. I have been blessed with that firm foundation in Christ that helps me in every aspect of my life, both in good times and in bad. Especially in the bad. When I had to say good-bye to my 4 day old son, I knew I couldn't do it alone. I could hardly even accept that it was really happening, yet when I prayed for help I experienced a calmness that I could not have created myself. I felt like through that entire day I was being carried. I experienced peace though I was facing sorrow and despair. I am so grateful for the gospel, and for our Savior Jesus Christ who made it possible, through his self sacrifice to be resurrected and to repent and live with our Heavenly Father and our loved ones again someday.

How I live my faith

Living my religion and my faith is not a mere Sunday activity, it is the way I live my everyday life! I pray everyday and read the scriptures and I try my best to be like Christ, to show charity and love to others around me. My goal is to have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. It is not easy, and I am constantly repenting and correcting myself (or more likely being corrected, often by my kids or husband,) but when I can receive and follow inspiration from the Holy Ghost, then I know I am in a good place.
