Hi I'm Tami

I'm a mom to 4 kids, I have been married 16 years, I teach piano, music to preschoolers, and dance, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About 7 years ago, I was asked by a fellow church member, to teach them how to play the piano. I accepted and learned a lot. I started getting more and more students mostly children and I learned how wonderful it was to watch someone start with no knowledge of how to play and then gradually start playing songs that they knew. I have a great love for music, it has been a blessing to me that when I am frustrated, upset, or nervous I can go to the piano or turn on some music that will "soothe my soul" and I feel so much better, I feel that good music is a gift from God. I was then asked to teach music to preschoolers, wow how smart those little ones are. What a wonderful excitement and unconditional love they have for you. It has been a blessing in my life to teach them and be around them. Dance was something I really enjoyed in high school, it was a way to express yourself through music once again. I enrolled my first daughter in her first dance class when she was 4, I was probably more excited then she was. When she came out on the stage for her first recital wearing nothing but a small bikni, I decided that I would take over teaching her dance and pick costumes that were modest and choregraph dances more appropriate. I recruited some of her friends and now I'm currently teaching a class for my younger daughter. Through dance kids can learn self confidence and the love as of music as well. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and 4 wonderful children.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of this church. What peace and joy it gives to me. I know where I come from, I know why I am here, I know where I will go when I die. I know that there is a God, He loves me so much that he sent his son Jesus Christ to the Earth to die for me, so that I can repent when I make mistakes and so I can return to live with him. We were all sent to this Earth to obtain a mortal body and go through trials, to see if we would be true to our divine natures of sons and daughters of God. I know that through prayer I can communicate with God and thank him for the wonderful blessings he gives to me, but also ask for help with the trials and tests that each and everyone us will go through on this Earth. God will never leave us alone and lonely, he is always there if we just open our hearts and ask for his help, he will help you no matter how depressed or discouraged you are, He loves you, you are his children.

How I live my faith

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we get the opportunites to serve. I serve in the church's womens group, the Relief Society. Through this service I get to see how we as members of this church are taking care of each other and those around us. I have watched many meals being brought into those that are sick or have trials in their life, I have seen many hours of people willing to babysit or pick up people for church, doctors appoitments, etc, I have seen many willing to drive an hour or more to visit a fellow member or friend in the hospital. I have seen much service and love of mankind. I have enjoyed getting to know each lady in our area. Through this service I have felt the help and peace of God and his son Jesus Christ. He knows my many weaknesses and when I have turned to Him he has strengthen me. I have a great fear of getting in front of large bodies of adults. My mind goes numb and I can't think what to say. With my serivce I am required to get in front of large groups and teach and conduct meetings. When I have prayed for help and asked God for help, He has not left me alone, He has supported me and I have peace of mind and I am calm.
