Hi I'm Launie

I'm a wife, a mother, I have three dogs, I believe adoption is love and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother, I have an MBA, and we have three dogs. I met my husband four years before we married and we were best friends and we have supported each other though some of the hardest times in life. After we first started dating my sister-in-law passed away from cancer and it was very difficult for me. I am the youngest of 5 and my sister-in-law was a part of my life since I was very young. It was difficult for me to turn to anyone and I often cried myself to sleep because I missed her. Some times no matter how much we know things will be okay it is still difficult. Then after we got married we decided to try to have kids. We got pregnant within a few months. December 6, 2010 when we were 20 weeks pregnant my water broke. We rushed to the hospital and our first baby, boy was gone. A year later at 23 weeks, January 21, 2012 we lost our second son from an incompetent cervix. Both times there was nothing we could do but cry. I wondered what I did wrong, how I could have taken better care of myself while pregnant. It took me a long time to realize that this was the Lord's will in our lives. On March 16, 2012 my husbands father took his own life. We are watched over by our loved ones. My husband and I have gown closed through our trials and our marriage is wonderful because of the hard things we have been through together. In March 2013 we were blessed to adopt our son. He is truly a blessing for our family and we hope to have or adopt more children in the future!

Why I am a Mormon

I learned as a teenager that there is something greater than we can understand guiding our lives. I studdied many different religions because I wanted to make the right choice. Being a mormon just fit, everything made sence to me and the friends I made in the church were and are better than I could have asked for. Having Christ in my life though illnesses and deaths has given me someone who I can rely on. He is there to hold me up when I feel too weak and sad to stand.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the youth in the church. I have had the opportunity to also work in the cub scout program. Working with kids is a great blessing, their optimism and honesty are traits I wish to emulate. I love being visited by the other members in the church especially the missionaries they are always willing to lift me up and remind me of who I want to be like, Our Savior.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

The church opposes abortion especially because it is not exactly known when the spirit enteres the body. The church has a strong adoption program for expectant mothers who do not want to raise their child and many women who are unable to birth their own children benefit from this program. Providing a body for our Heavenly Fathers children is a devine right women have and it is such a blessing we should not take for granted. Show more Show less
