Hi I'm Anastasia

I love hand sanitizer. British accents make me happy. I'm from Russia. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I'm serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Spokane Washington Mission. The mission is such a great experience! As missionaries we have a chance to share what we believe and invite people to find out for themselves if this is true. I joined the Church when I was 18. This was a big change and a good change in my life. Before my mission I studied at a university in Moscow. I graduated with a degree in financial management, but my heart belongs to art. I love art! I love to spend time with my friends watching a movie and eating something healthy (or not). I love to travel and get introduced to different cultures (I'm so proud of myself for recently eating chicken feet). I love the ocean. I love Fridays. I love being a full time missionary. Life is just beautiful!

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to join the Church when I came to know that God really loves me. I realized that the plan that He has for us is so amazing. I'm grateful to know that our families can be together forever. I saw that missionaries and the members of the Church really lived what they taught people. I was impressed by how happy they were. I decided to find out for myself what the reason was for missionaries being happy all the time. I knew that it wasn't that fun for them to learn Russian, to be in cold weather or to face the coldness of people on the streets. I came to know that their faith motivated them to do missionary work and sacrifice 18-24 months of their lives. The example of missionaries and members motivated me to learn more about their faith. But the Gospel of Jesus Christ made me decide to join the Church. Now it's my faith.

How I live my faith

My faith is a lifestyle. It's not Sunday, Thursday or Friday and Saturday. It's every single day of my life. I love to go to Church on Sundays and hear kids praying. I love that we can always learn something new, that we can progress, grow, and become like our Savior. I know that I'm not perfect, but I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ in everything that I do; I'm grateful for His example.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Anastasia
I do believe that God talks to His children today. We know that God always called prophets in the past. Why would He stop doing it? Don't we need God's words to be revealed to us? It took me a while to receive my personal testimony about the prophet Joseph Smith. The answer came to me through praying and reading the Book of Mormon. I knew that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Logically, it testified that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet to bring back the original church of Jesus Christ. We are so blessed to have the prophet on the earth today! Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Anastasia
We know that God loves us. We also know that He would never leave us. He guides us through the prophet and the apostles. As it says in the Bible, the church of Jesus Christ should be build upon the foundation of apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:19-20). Personally, the leaders of the church help me to find more direction and they always relate to our days time. I would all recommend to learn what the apostles and the prophet teach us.
