Hi I'm Katie

I'm a married mother of 5 who spends her days doing all the little things (over & over & over!) that make a home, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I think I am a pretty average, even stereotypical, Mormon mom! I "retired" 10 years ago from my job as a media buyer, soon after my first child was born, and now I stay home with my 5 kids that drive me crazy, but I love them more than anything! This is what I always wanted for my life. I love to bake, do crafts, make cards and scrapbooks and that's what I try to do when kids are sleeping or busy with friends. Making pretty things for my home or the people I love makes me happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is Christ's church. My parents were raised members of the church and when I was born, they continued to live the gospel and taught it to me. We read The Book of Mormon together as a family, as well as the Old & New Testament. They taught me to pray to Heavenly Father, and they taught me that he would answer my prayers. I went to church, and seminary and studied the scriptures on my own. I learned the principles of the gospel at a young age and have always tried to live them. I have felt the companionship of the Holy Ghost with me all throughout my life and he has confirmed the truthfulness of the gospel to me over and over.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Primary at church- with the children up to 12 years old. I get to help teach the gospel to them through the scriptures, stories, songs and games. I know that God knows and loves each one of them individually. I feel a bit of that love each week when I am with them and I love it there! As a parent, I work with my husband to teach the gospel to our children. We hold weekly Family Home Evenings where we pray, read scriptures, sing hymns, and discuss gospel topics. We try to pray together as a family each day and study the scriptures too. Each of my children is very different but I am learning patience and love as I pray for them and try to be a good mother.
