Hi I'm Andrea

I am a mom of 3 boys, a quilter, a school volunteer, a wife. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

Right now my life is filled with taking care of three young boys and all of the chaos that comes along with it! Our floors always have legos on them, we have a collection of balls of all sizes, we cheer for our favorite sports teams and I've learned that road kill is no longer "gross" but now "cool." It's been a steep learning curve for me to raise all boys, especially considering I came from a family of all girls. I've learned that boys can be loud and need lots of ways to get their energy out. I love being with my little guys and my husband and I are happy to be parents and enjoying this stage of our lives. We are trying to raise our kids to be thoughtful, kind, grateful, smart and inquisitive. I graduated with a degree in Communications but sometimes I wished it had been martial arts so that I can be more effective in breaking up the wrestling matches that occur on our living room floor.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church but I have had many opportunities to pursue other lifestyles. I have found that I am happiest in my life when I am trying to remember the Savior and his teachings. The gospel brings peace to my life and I enjoy going to church so I can feel edified and encouraged to live a better life. Sometimes life can be very noisy and too busy. I feel like the gospel centers me and helps prioritize what I do in my life. I teach the 10 years olds Sunday school at church and this year we have been studying the New Testament. I've really enjoyed relearning the stories and remembering how these timeless spiritual lessons still apply to us today. Our children enjoy going to church. I love the songs they learn in Primary and how the simple melodies and lyrics remind our boys to be good and kind. I will hear them singing the songs as they play, and it makes me smile that our boys know that they are children of the Lord.

How I live my faith

My favorite scripture is found in Alma 37:6. It says that "by small things are great things brought to pass." I have found that my testimony of the Savior and experience in trying to live a good life are centered in this scripture. Spiritual promptings and personal experiences sometimes come in small ways but when I recognize what they are, they can have a great impact on my life. I also try to remember this scripture in how I help others. Sometimes it seems overwhelming to reach out to someone else when my own life can be busy. I have learned that seemingly small acts of kindness can make a big difference. I try to take the time to write handwritten notes and show appreciation to those I care about. I know the Savior knows each of us and is aware of our circumstances. I feel that if my heart is open to the promptings of the Holy Ghost, I can be a blessing to others and help them to know they are loved.
