Hi I'm Sherry

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona.

About Me

I love people and worked as a registered nurse for 27 years before retiring. Working as a nurse helped me to see and understand many different people and I really enjoyed being able to help others. I love getting to know all types of people and learning their stories. I love helping and serving others and especially seeing how others can grow even in difficult circumstances. My first marriage ended in divorce so I experienced raising my children as a single mom for many years. I have now married a wonderful husband who treats me with love and kindness. I get to love our blended family now and nothing is better than grandchildren! I play the piano and read many books when I'm not busy with work, home and family. I've had a very interesting life with twists and turns I never expected but they have helped me to grow and appreciate family and friends that have helped me along the way. The greatest source of strength has been my Father in Heaven who never forgot me and has always answered my prayers.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was raised in the Church and was baptized at age 8. After my devastating divorce, I questioned all my beliefs and felt so betrayed because all my hopes and dreams for the future were gone. I turned to my Heavenly Father for answers about why my life was so broken and how could I ever heal. I turned to the scriptures for answers of comfort and peace. Slowly over many years I learned about myself, found answers as to why I went through such hard times and felt the love of my Savior with me every step of the way. I've had doubts and fears while being a single mom but have leaned to trust in the Lord and he has never forgotten me or let me down. Life has not gone the way I wanted it to but it has made me grow and taught me lessons that have made me strong. I love my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and I feel their love for me everyday. I'm a Mormon now because I feel my Savior's love and guidance in my life everyday and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the fullness of Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ because I've had so many opportunities to serve others and feel the joy of helping to see others learn and grow. I've worked with the women's organization visiting those that are sick physically or spiritually. I've served with the children teaching them about their Savior's love and mine, too. I now work with teenagers who have a lot of temptations and trials but are valiant in choosing to follow Heavenly Father's plan for them. I love getting to know my neighbors, I have the best neighborhood! I get to meet my neighbors by getting outside when I walk my dog. There are so many good people all around who are trying their best to raise their families and be good husband and wives. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the best guide for me in helping me be a good wife, moth and grandmother.
