Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 7 years and have two boys, Carter age 5, Ashton age 2 ½. Imp originally from Tucson but I haven’t lived there since I was 19. At age 19, I left Tucson to serve a proselyting mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the northern costal region of Peru. I upon my return in Oct. 2001 I attended one year of college in Utah only to grow restless to make money. A year later the company I was working for sent me to Seattle in order to open a new branch. During that time I met my wife and a year later we were married. I love watching sports and I play golf and hockey when time permits.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet chosen by Heavenly Father to restore the gospel on the earth. Because of this restoration, we now have a living prophet today who leads and guides us. I know this is true because of answers to prayers and how I feel every Sunday at church. I usually feel peace and happiness coupled with a confidence that no matter what trials lay ahead I will can overcome them through personal inspiration and guidance from church leaders. I'm a Mormon because I want be with my family forever. By living the restored gospel and attending the temple regularly, Heavenly Father has promised to uphold my marriage covenants beyond this life. All of these things and many more bring true happiness and peace to my life and our home.

How I live my faith

Although we attend church only once a week, being a Mormon is an everyday effort. Aside from my personal prayer every morning and night, we pray before every meal and at night together as a family and later as parents. Every Monday night is family home evening(FHE) in which we gather together to have a lesson about the gospel, usually related to whats going on in our lives, and then we'll talk or play some kind of a game. I then go to the church building on Wednesday night from 7-8 pm in order to assist and direct a young men's group of 12-14 year olds. These activities range from doing service, playing sports, or working requirements for Boy Scout advancements. Aside from the day to day we also fast for 24 hrs(which ends up being two meals) as church worldwide every 1st Sunday of every month. We donate the money that we would have used for these meals to the church who uses this money to help people who are in need. Not only is service a great opportunity to help others in need, its a great opportunity for my children to put the things they're learning to practice.
