Hi I'm Cole

I hope to be a writer and a scientist. I am a missionary in upper New York. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the most humble person I know. I am a little sarcastic most of the time(in case you didn't get that from the previous sentence). I read a lot of books, mostly scifi and fantasy. I watch too much TV, in my own opinion. I am serving the Lord and the people of New York till 2015. I am a genius in my own mind and above average in reality. I like to hang out with friends doing whatever, mostly outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually born in this gospel(sorry but I have no cool conversion story). Both my parents are converts, but I will let them tell their story. I was always heavily involved in the church when I was young but there was a time when I considered not going. it was a hard time and I wasn't the most popular guy, but my church leaders encouraged me to continue and my life brightened almost immediately. I haven't considered leaving since. If you just look at the organization, the church is one of the best social gatherings I have ever experienced. But the actual gospel is what makes it a perfect and uplifting organization to be a part of. It is also the way we can allow the blessings of God to work in us to make us true disciples.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary in the New York Utica Mission...nuff said.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. They recorded their history and spiritual experiences for future generations to be guided. Near their extinction, a man named Mormon took the entire history of the people, called the Nephites for most of their existence, and abridged it. After his death, his son, Moroni, continued his work until he hid it in the hill Cumorah. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

The clergy of the church aren't paid because the clergy is the church. The leadership in the church are the members of the church. This give every worthy member the chance to be strengthened and to sacrifice his or her time and share their talents in order to help those around them and be strengthened themselves. Those that are called to serve are chosen by leaders through divine inspiration. I know that as i have had the opportunity to serve those of my church and see others serve me that it has been a strengthening experience. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The only way to find out if what we believe and how we live is true is testing it out. Read and ponder what is in the Book of Mormon. Try to live the way we live for a time. And then, pray to Heavenly Father. Ask him if it is true or even if its not true. And He will tell you. He will tell you through the Holy Ghost with feelings in your heart. He will tell you by blessing and improving your life. Show more Show less
