Hi I'm Machell

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 4... and I love it! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Things I love: being with my kids, date night with my husband, card games with friends, early morning runs, and sweet treats! I was a high school Spanish teacher until my second daughter was born. Interestingly, service in the church has given me so many opportunities to continue working with the youth and with the spanish-speaking community here in Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 19 I read The Book of Mormon. I was searching for purpose and direction in my life. As I read the book and prayed to know if it was true, I came to know that God not only existed, but that He knew me and cared about me! I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. And I realized that there really is a purpose for our life. I felt the love of God and it took the emptiness out of my life and filled it with joy and peace.

How I live my faith

Through my involvement with our youth program I have participated in so many wonderful service projects! We have sent blankets to Haiti, hygiene kits to Indonesia, school kits to South America and birthing kits to South Africa. We have sent hundreds of care packages to our soldiers, made blankets and sent toys to pediatric cancer patients at Phoenix Children's Hospital and thrown Christmas parties for families living in homeless shelters in the valley. We look for ways to lift others burdens and ease their suffering, to help others feel hope. And the gospel really is about hope.
