Hi I'm Lalene

I was born and raised in Mesa. I'm a Mormon and have been all my life!

About Me

I am a full-time mom of three children. I love music, making cards, and reading historical fiction, if I ever get any free time?!?! I got my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math. I had my first child two months after graduating, so chose to stay home and use my education in my own family first. Being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever done, but the most rewarding also! I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some may wonder how I know it's the true church then?!?! I have always known, but I gained a stronger testimony of our Savior on the Temple grounds early one Easter morning as a teenager. Although I've always been an active member, some of my family members have not been. I have seen the hardships, struggles, and unhappiness they and my family have gone through because of sin. I know my happiness has come from trying to live the gospel to the fullest! I'm still trying and learning, but I know I haven't had as much heartache from living with the consequences of "having fun" as the world calls it. Life is hard, but good! My testimony continues to grow and strengthen as I put into practice different aspects of the gospel. I gained a testimony of tithing by paying tithing as a dirt poor, newly married, college student. Our needs were taken care of and I've never regretted or questioned giving the Lord his tenth! Anyway, even though i have always had some sort of a testimony, I have questioned, put into practice, and gained a powerful testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know the gospel is true! I know it is the root of my happiness!

How I live my faith

I recently got a new calling to serve the women in our ward. I have already had the opportunity to visit with women that I didn't know well before. I have been blessed by women of our ward also. We enjoy helping each other with babysitting, meals, talking and listening, sharing struggles about unique children, etc. I have gained good friends through visiting teaching as well. I had been serving the children before my new calling. I taught gospel lessons on Sundays, did cub scout activities during the week, and enjoyed teaching and learning from wonderful, faith-filled children! I am grateful to be able to serve others in my callings in the church. I always grow spiritually and am strengthened.
