Hi I'm Kirk

I love the mountains, and I love to Ski. I love music, I speak Spanish, I'm a movie quoter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I love to be up in the mountains where I can ski, and snowboard. I also like to go camping and have outdoor adventures. On my spare time, I like to play video games with my sisters and watch movies with my family. I enjoy playing sports like volleyball, tennis, and golf. I have a great love for translating between English and Spanish for people. I have a knack of quoting things from movies, games, books, and from other people, which makes for a good laugh or two.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Latter-Day Saint (mormon) home. I followed it for a while because my parents had brought me up that way, and I felt like it was good. But, there came a time during my teenage years, where I wasn't sure I knew that the church was true, and I didn't want to go very much anymore. So, I decided that if I was to keep going, I'd have to know if it was true. So, I started to read from the Book of Mormon daily, and to pray, with a firm belief that when I got my answer that it was true, I would follow it for the rest of my life. I read and prayed for many weeks. Then, one day I was reading the Book of Mormon, and I had this very subtle but powerful feeling that all the things that I had been taught, were true. It wasn't something miraculous, but it was something that had grown steadily, and little by little. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. The fact that I know it's true, gives me strength to go on, even in the hard trials and problems of life. I am able to go head-strong and conquer the evil temptations of the adversary. I know Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that He knows how to help us, because of what He did. He payed the price, so that we might live with our Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I like to serve others. It gives me a sense of worth and love when I can help someone with something that they need help doing, such as moving furniture or when they move houses. I also love helping people come closer to their savior, Jesus Christ. I know how much He can help, and I share that with others. I visit people I know with my dad, and we talk to them about their family, and how their life is going, and offer to help with anything when it is needed.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Kirk
Yes, it is true that Jesus Christ appeared to the people in the ancient Americas. Jesus Himself said in the Bible that he had "other sheep" that were not there with them, and "them also I must bring." He came to the Americas to bring those other people to the knowledge of Him, and His true gospel. They were able to see Him as he really is, just as the people in the Bible were able to see Him. I know this, because I have read the Book of Mormon, and have asked specifically if Jesus really visited the People of ancient America. Show more Show less
