Hi I'm Katherine

I am 22, I volunteered in China, I'm married, and I'm trying to get through college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a student. My husband and I still act like we are children, playing and laughing all day long. We hope to never change and to make life fun and exciting. I love to travel and have a dream of traveling to Italy, roaming the beautiful pebble stone streets, and tasting pure gelato. Music is one of my passions, which I will continue until the day I die. I love to sing and play piano and ukulele. I hope to play the ukulele on the beach of Hawaii at least once in my life. I'm almost done with my Bachelors and can't wait to start a family of my own and share my passions with my sweet children.

Why I am a Mormon

If you have read my "about me" profile, you can see that I have a lot of dreams, passions, and fun in my life. BUT I have also had tragedy, sorrow, and disappointment like everyone. The reason I am a Mormon (or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) is because I have found a real and permanent reason to be happy. Sure, Italy and Hawaii would create happiness...but only for a time. The reason why I am happy is because I know Christ lives. He died for me and provided a way for me and all of God's children (that's you and everyone around you) to be happy. We can rely on His infinite mercy to help us out of trial, fear, sorrow, and suffering. He especially can help us overcome sin and transgression. Because of His priesthood I will be with my family forever, even if I am separated from them here on earth. One of my favorite scriptures is John 14:27, which says that Christ will give us what the world can't. When we are afraid or struggling He will not leave us alone, but will give us peace. I know Christ loves us and that this is His Gospel. This is the real reason for my happiness, which I will treasure forever and eternity.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my life and the reason I wake up each day. I love going to the temple often to do work for those who are no longer on this earth, such as baptisms and other ordinances. Serving other people brings me joy and I pray often to know who I can help. Soon I will be given the responsibility to serve a couple women in my ward. I am excited to teach them and help them with any of their needs. My husband and I are hoping to start a family soon. I hope to be a righteous mother who lets her children know that she has a testimony of Christ and strives to live her life as He once did.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ. This is the records of when Christ visited the Americas after His resurrection. We believe the Bible because it is also a record of Christ and many prophets that testified of Him. The Book of Mormon and Bible work together to testify of Christ. Each compliments each other. There are no new truths. Because of the many translations of the Bible, some precious truths were cut out, such as baptism by full immersion, and the Atonement in more detail. Today I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible because from them together I can better understand Christ's Atonement, what I need to do to prepare to meet Christ again, and learn more about Christ through His visitation to the Americas. What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I am just a normal person, married and going to school. What I do during the day is similar to most everyone in the world, except I wake up and read my scriptures and pray for guidance through my day. I also stay away from anything that would be harmful to my body, such as drugs and alcohol. We believe that our bodies are sacred and so I choose to dress modestly and have chosen to be married before I shared intimacy with anyone. My family has been sealed in the temple and will be together forever if we each are obedient to God's commandments. Our purpose is to have joy in this life and through all of these choices, I have found this true joy. I hope to share this joy with someone. I want them to see what I see. Show more Show less
