Hi I'm Mark Switzer

I'm the son of a retired Marine (Ooh rah!), the husband of an amazing wife and the father of 4 fantastic children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A lot about me seems to be out of place: - I am the son of Americans, but born in Argentina. - I am a soccer fan living in the land of football, basketball and baseball. - I am a Redskins fan living in Dallas Cowboy country. - I got a degree in business, and became a computer programmer. - Then I got a degree in Computer Science and went into sales. Some things fit right into place, however. - My parents are first rate patriots and role models. - My 3 brothers and 2 sisters were my built-in best friends growing up, and even today. - My 4 children came out in the perfect order: 2 boys, then 2 girls. And they make life thrilling and scary and fun and frustrating and exciting and bewildering and amusing, often all at the same time. - My wife--well, they just don't get any better.

Why I am a Mormon

Life isn't always a perfect bliss. In fact, it's often crazy and stressful. I've had my fair share of challenges (mostly self induced). I have my fair share of imperfections. I don't always know where I'm going or why. I sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture. I need help. That help has ALWAYS been there for me. My Father in Heaven has always answered when I've knocked. My Savior, Christ the Redeemer, has bailed me out of countless rough times and cleansed me of my many sins. The Holy Spirit has guided me down wonderful paths I would otherwise not have taken, and steered me clear of paths better left untraveled. Our loving God has given me my life, joy with which to fill that life, and a loving family with whom I can share that joy. Basically, He has given me everything that matters; and he has given me a road map I can follow to keep it all. That road map is the Gospel. I know God lives and loves me. I know Christ, the only sinless man to walk the earth, paid the debt for my sins and the sins of all mankind. I know The Bible and The Book of Mormon contain God's true words, that He calls prophets today as He did anciently to guide and direct His children, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His one true church. I know this because I have prayed to Him to know if these things are true; and, like I said before, He has always answered when I've knocked.

How I live my faith

I was a missionary, teaching the people in Santiago, Chile about our Faith, and inviting them to seek God's truths and follow Him. I have helped with our congregation's book keeping, visited families with spiritual and physical needs to encourage and help them get to a better place in their lives, and taught Sunday School classes to children of various ages (the little ones bring an amazing spirit). Currently, I am a Den Leader in our Cub Scouts pack. I get the Bears, which includes my son. I'm pretty new to it, but I love it already!
