Hi I'm John

I am a proud father, a business man, a weekend warrior and married to the greatest woman in the world, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have five wonderful children and am married to my college sweatheart. I am a professional salesman ( which took me a long time to admit). I enjoy outdoor activities with my family and friends. One of my passions is playing competitive sports. I played college football but was sidelined with a knee injury my senior season. The reality is that I have never received closure to that part of my life so I play competive flag football, basketball, softball, golf and any sport that will ignite the competitive fire. When I am not competing I enjoy watching and coaching my children as they discover the joys and benefits of playing sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon church. My parents taught me the principles of the gospel and to follow Jesus Christ at an early age by their example and word. The amazing thing about "conversion" is that it is personal. I realized that I could not live on the testimonies of my parents. I had to apply the teachings of Jesus and the principles of the gospel in my personal life to find out if it was true. Through this application, I have gained a testimony that Jesus Christ LIVES and that he is my personal Savior. Because he is my personal Savior, He listens to my prayers and He answers them. He is aware of me and my desires both great and small. I know that He loves me. To show His love to me He has placed a prophet on the earth today, to be His spokesperson and provide me direction in times of turmoil. I know He speaks today thru a prophet just as in times of old. I treasure the ancient writings of the prophets found in the Bible and Book of Mormon. Those two books have been and still are instrumental in the development and growth of my testimony of Jesus Christ and His divinity. I am Mormon because the teachings of the church have brought me to a deeper knowledge of the unconditional love our Father in Heaven has for His children. These teachings have brought me closer to the Savior, Jesus Christ and His role in the plan of happiness. My relationship with Him is richer because I know how much He loves me. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored completely by Jesus Christ, through the prophet Joseph Smith. I am grateful that I had to discover this truth for myself because it makes me a better person, father, husband and friend. Following the Savior brings complete happiness.

How I live my faith

The great aspect of the Mormon church is found in the everyday application of the principles of the gospel. I work with the youth of the church in my area and I have found that if I really want to keep up with their spiritual growth I have to seek daily "spiritual nourishment". I find that by using my ability to talk to others about Jesus Christ enables me to strengthen my testimony while strenghening their feelings about Christ as well. I especially enjoy talking about relgious subjects with youth. I love to see young men and young women who have conviction, direction and enthusisiam in their lives. It is best when they recognize the source of their direction and conviction. I live my faith daily by creating opportunities for spiritual nourishment for both myself and the people I come in contact with. I enjoy reminding others of how great they can be and that all things can be accomplished through Christ.
