Hi I'm Colton

I am from California. I am a college student and I have a part- time job. I enjoy life and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in California. I am currently serving a 2 year mission helping people come closer to Christ in the Guadalajara, Mexico area. I love my family and friends and spending time with them. I love music and playing guitar. I also like to read and draw and when I'm not doing that i love to spend time outdoors. I like to ski, cycle, mountain bike, surf, camp, hike, and play sports. I have been a member of the Church my entire life and have given most of these things up to be able to serve and help others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have been a member since I was baptized at the age of eight. I did not really understand fully why I was baptized at that time, but I felt that it was the right thing to do. In baptism, we make a promise to obey God's commandments and take upon the name of His Son Jesus Christ. Later, we are confirmed and given the gift of the Holy Ghost as a constant companion and guide. I learned later on why this was the right thing to do. Through obedience to His commandments, I found great happiness and joy. I felt my Heavenly Father's love and His Son's through the Holy Ghost. And when I made a mistake or messed up I was able to repent through Jesus Christ's Atonement and find that same joy which i had before. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is the church that contains the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that I will be able to return to be with My Heavenly Father and my Savior and I know that anyone can who follows the gospel which the Savior himself has put on this earth in this church. His gospel has blessed my life infinitely and will bless yours too.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the simple acts of every day. I strive to obey the commandments which I have promised to keep with my Heavenly Father. I read and study the scriptures each day so that I am able to learn and remember the things which I have been taught and that I may soon be able to teach others what I have learned. I visit others in my church boundaries and teach a lesson to them or offer the sacrament when they are not able to attend church. I am preparing to serve the people of Guadalajara, Mexico as a missionary for two years by fulfilling my calling as a missionary in my church boundaries. I also prepare to serve so that I will be able to offer the same blessings of joy and happiness which I have been given.
