Hi I'm Jake

I just graduated college with a bachelors degree in Industrial Design and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hmmm. Well I like to think I'm pretty unique but I'm sure there are other Mormons out there that are just like me. I was born and raised in Utah and I'm proud of it. I love the out-doors and there is no better place on earth to enjoy them than Utah. I have had the blessing in my life to visit other places too. I've been to Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Germany, France, and Austria. My family is big and I love that. I descend from Swedes and Englishman. I tend to get along with all types of people. I'm somewhat of a nerd so I can relate with the Trekkies(or Trekkers if you prefer) but I also get along with Sports enthusiasts, hipsters, and the rest of them. I enjoy wood-working when I have the time and equipment on hand. I have had two furniture pieces that I have designed and built win national competitions. That brings me to my last point: I love to design and build things. I'm an Industrial Designer and I hope to invent something that will change the world some day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of two reasons. I was born into this faith and have grown up loving and learning all about it. The second reason is that I have found that everything in the Book of Mormon and the Bible and everything I have learned in the church has led me to Christ.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon means a lot of participation in the church. Publicly I have been involved in the church in one way or another my whole life. I have spent countless hours directly involved in church events and activities as well as just attending Sunday meetings weekly. Privately being a member of the church means praying daily. It means constant change--trying to be a better person. It means scripture study. It means trying to become like Christ. To me it means believing in something and following(doing) what I believe.
