Hi I'm Kent

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband of 38 years, a father of 5, and (my favorite title) "Grampa" to 14 and counting. I am the municipal finance director of a small town in the mountains of Arizona, and a dedicated Scoutmaster.

Why I am a Mormon

The restored gospel of Jesus Christ gives me an anchor in troubled times. I have felt God answering my fervent prayers, and knowing He is my father, and that He loves me, helps me stay focused on the real and important things.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my activities as a Scoutmaster to a group of 11-year-old boys. I teach them the twelve principles of the Scout law, and how those points relate to their relationship with God and their fellow man. In my career, absolute honesty and integrity are vital, and the gospel of Christ has instilled that in me.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

I know that the Savior's grace is what will get me back into the presence of God, and not my own works only. However, I believe that as a follower of Jesus Christ, it is my duty to keep His commandments to the best of my ability, and to love and serve my fellow man. As Jesus taught, If ye love me, keep my commandments. If I really try to follow Him and be like Him, he will honor that puny effort and do for me what I could never do for myself. That is what His grace means to me. Show more Show less
