Hi I'm William

I'm a Mormon. I joined the church in Huntington Beach Califirnia at the age of 20. My best friend introduced me to the church.

About Me

When I was 20 years ago my best friend Helio introduced me to the church. I can honesty say it was without a doubt the best decision of my life. Since I joined the church I have served a two year in Scotland. After a mission I was sealed in the temple to my great wife. We have been blessed with five children and eight grandchildren. I have held verious calling in the church, mostly within the youth organizations. I also served as Bishop for five years. The churh and my family are the center of my life. Their is no doubt in my mind that I would be an alcoholic right now if it wasn't for the church. I was an extremely heavy drinker before I joined the church and since my conversion I have never tasted alcohol. I love playing and watching all sporting events, with my favorite sporting event being Boston RedSox games. I am an avid collector of sporting material and thus I try to attend sporting events yearly. I have been to Fenway Park four times and look forward to my next experience. My greatest joy is engaging in any activities with my family, they are the joy of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to join the church at the young age of twenty because I was heading down the road to distruction. My life was consumed with alcohol, and I had no troble driving while under the influince. I was so out of control that in my mind I would have eventually became an alcoholic. My early life was lived without any religious influience, I basically didn't believe in God or attended any formal churches. When my best friend asked me to take the missionary lessions I said yes because he joined the church a year earlier and just like me he was heading towards becoming an alcoholic. Afetr I saw the change in his life, I knew that their must be something special about the Morman Church. I joined the Morman Church after taking the missionary discussion and since that time I have never missed a church meeting. I have held various calling in the church, from a missionary in Scotland to holding the office of Bishop for five years. I can honestly say the the church is true, lead by a loving Father in Heaven and his eldest son Jesus Christ. They have chosen Thomas S. Monson to be the Prophet in these latter days. I know that he and all other Prophets are called of God and that Joseph Smith was called to restore the gospel in these latter days. I also know that the Book of Morman is true. You may ask why I know this, because my Father in Heaven has told me in my preyers.

How I live my faith

Most of my service has been with the youth of the various wards that I have lived within. I have learned that serving others not only blesses my life and hopefully blesses theirs. I have also held other callings in the church, from Missionary to Bishop. I have tried to be a faithfull home teacher, visiting the families that I have been assigned every month. Before I joined the church I was shy, bashfull and would never talk in front of others. Since my conversion my life has been filled with callings of leadership, allowing me to grow and develope while serving others. As a result of serving the Lord he has blessed me and my family with protection and love. Many special events have happended in my life and I feel that the Lord has blessed my because of my faith and service. Having a wife that lifts me up doesn't hurt. I love her with all of my soul and for all eternity. I thank my Father in Heaven for allowing her to enter my life. The church and my family are my greatest joy in life.
