Hi I'm Jordyn

I'm an accounting student, a college tennis player, and I wear a calculator watch. I'm a Mormon and I love it!

About Me

I grew up in Idaho but am now going to school in Arizona and trying not to melt! I am studying to be an accountant and I play for the school tennis team. I have four brothers, three sisters-in-law and some awesome nieces and nephews that I just don't get to see enough! I love all sports, camping, hiking, just being outdoors is incredible. I would much rather stay at home and play board games with friends than go out to a dance party. I love boating, slalom skiing, snow boarding, riding motorcycles and running. I have played violin since I was about 9 and piano since I was 5. To this day my worst days can be turned around by playing church hymns on the piano. I love singing, but only when no one is around to hear it!

Why I am a Mormon

My favorite thing about my religion is the knowledge that families can be together forever. It brings such peace knowing that even though there is never enough time for me to be with my brothers, their wives and kids, I will have the rest of eternity to be with the people I love the most. I love the peace and the joy that comes from knowing the reason for being on Earth. I know that being a part of this gospel is not going to allow me to avoid trials, but it sure helps me deal with them better. I love the people I'm able to associate with through my faith. I love the stories of hope and victories that I hear on a daily basis. I love the opportunities I get through the church to be able to serve others, and having a whole ward of people I can call on if I need anything. I love the tender mercies that come from the Lord. They happen to everyone, but most people chalk it up to coincidence. I don't believe in coincidences. I don't care how small of a thing it is, to me it is proof that God knows me personally and is letting me know that I am loved.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. I like to get as involved in the church as I can. I love going to church on Sundays to learn all I can and associate with people that have the same values as I do. I am a gospel doctrine teacher in my ward, and it's amazing. It's so great to prepare lessons and learn from the people in my class. I love listening to talks by various church leaders and learning everything I can. I do my best to read from the scriptures every day and learning to apply what I read to my life has helped me get through so many trials. I can't imagine where I would be today without my faith.
