Hi I'm Spencer

I've wanted to be a writer since childhood. I play the piano, sing, and do art. I also enjoy reading and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary. Before my mission I was working on a sci-fi/high fantasy/espionage novel I intend to publish. I graduated from high school last year. During my senior year I was editor of the high school yearbook. After my mission, I plan to attend college to pursue a degree in English as well as develop my musical abilities. I enjoy classical music and listen to it often. Painting is enjoyable to me; I am experienced in watercolor and acrylic. Learning has always been my passion. History fascinates me. Reading is awesome. Several years in the future I plan to marry and have a family. I can also see myself teaching English at my high school, writing multiple books, and composing music later in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times. This book is the foundation for all that I believe in. Reading it has changed who I am. As I read the pages I have had a greater desire to help other people, forgive, and repent of what I do wrong. Along with my reading, I have prayed. I have sought to live the principles taught in the book. Among these are honesty, service, morality, faith, virtue, courage, love, and humility. From the combination of reading, praying, and striving to internalize these principles I have found out for myself that the Book of Mormon is true--I testify of it. This book gives me peace when I feel down and determination to do what is right when I am tempted to do something wrong. Because of this book I know that there is a God and that we are his literal children. He loves us as a perfect parent. He has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer for our sins and overcome death so we can have the opportunity to live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I am currently a full-time missionary. I have been called to the Buenos Aires Argentina mission but have spent four months in Colorado waiting for my visa. I speak to people about the gospel and help them align their lives with Christ's teachings. I seek to influence others positively. Before my mission I with my dad would visit one of the families in our ward each month to share an uplifting message. Each week I attend church and occasionally give a talk there. I seek to be a good example to my younger brother. I read the scriptures daily, pray multiple times a day, and continually strive to become more Christlike.
