Hi I'm Sheryl.

I am from Seattle, and grew up in a wonderful family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the middle child, and was very shy and quiet. My family was not rich, but we didn't realize that until we were grown. We were close to our grandparents, and the 3 of us girls loved to sing. I'm sure we drove our mom crazy, but we learned to blend our voices and make a joyful noise. I loved school, reading, and Jesus Christ was my best friend!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up attending church with my grandmother - not just on Sundays, but nearly every day of the week. Jesus Christ was my closest friend, His Spirit guided me. I lived in a big city, but was not afraid to walk to school (rather than take the bus) because Christ was always with me. I talked constantly to Him. I still love Him. At a young age I discovered the Jackson 5 and the Osmonds, and read every magazine I could about them. I learned that the Osmonds were "Mormon". I'd never heard of it. I liked how they called God a special name, Heavenly Father. What a beautiful name! I decided to learn more about Mormons. I looked in the phone book and found a nearby church, and 2 missionaries were sent to our home. They brought me a copy of the Book of Mormon. The missionaries asked me to read the first 100 pages and to pray about it. Wow! That seemed like a lot to my teenage mind, but I read most of it, and I prayed about it. I had a sweet experience when I received an answer that was pure and simple - The Book of Mormon is true. I was so touched by the Spirit that I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day weeks later. I wanted the whole world to know that Heavenly Father loves us so much that He gave us another witness of Jesus Christ. I chose to serve a mission, and went to French-speaking Switzerland Geneva.

How I live my faith

After my mission I married in the Seattle Temple, had a beautiful little girl, and have now been a member of the church for 39 years. My daughter grew up and married in the Seattle Temple, and I am now the grandmother of 2 beautiful children. They are my heart. I am currently serving in the church by working with teenagers. We plan and enjoy activities each week, and learn about the gospel on Sundays. I still read and study the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible, and love that Jesus Christ is still my best friend.
