Hi I'm Phillip Charles Unitt

I am a father of 4, husband of 1, retired Soldier and a Clinical Aide in an Elementary School and Yes, I'm a Mormon. Proud of it.

About Me

I grew up in a large family of 12 siblings, we all have had our ups and downs, but through it all we continue to enjoy our lives. My mother was killed by a drunk driver when I was at the tender age of 10 years old. Knowing where she has gone, helped me continue to move on with my life. I enjoy painting oil and acrylic landscapes and seascapes and building plastic model military vehicles. When I was in Jr. High School I was asked to create my school's mascot design. I was a little rebellious in my youth going through High School, but managed to still graduate. I join the United States Army in 1986 to be a Combat Field Medic. Met my wife in 1988 and was married in 1989. We have had 4 wonderful children, who still continue to impress me and make me proud to be their father everyday. I am coming up on my 25th year of marriage to my one and only true love. I have earn my Bachelor's of Science in the Liberal Arts. I am certified to teach 4 - 8 grade Mathematics. I am retired from the Army as a Staff Sergeant after serving my country for 23 years and currently serving the children of Killeen, Texas as a Clinical Aide at Reeces Creek Elementary School. I will soon have 2 children who have completed their temple ordinances and will be serving their missions in Central and South America. My Son will be returning from Honduras and my daughter will be leaving to Chile.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I know I have finally found the one true church here on this Earth today and everyday in this dispensation. For the gospel of Jesus Christ, the same one found in the New Testament of the Bible, has been restored back here for all of children to have by one of the Lord's chosen servant, the Prophet Joseph Smith. Today, we still get to enjoy receiving revelations from the Lord through the mouth of a modern day Prophet Thomas S. Monson. I was born into the church, but I am a convert. They knew that the gospel was true and I did believe in my parents, so I followed. I never considered that I should try and build my own testimony so I just lived off of my father's. So, the day arrived for me to live on my own, in which I to fell prey to the adversaries lures and slipped into misery. My foundation that I thought was built upon the rock, crumbled into the sand. I was lonely, scared, and captive. After wasting a large portion of my life I decided to finally open the door and let my Savior back into my life. As soon as I did that I felt a heavy burden lifted from my soul. I felt lighter and more free. Of all the good and bad decisions and choices I had ever made I knew that this one was the best decision of them all. I will never turn away from my lord again.

How I live my faith

I serve my God by helping his children receive a good education so they to will have the opportunity to make right choices in their own lives. I work in a school where over 90% of the population are Economically Disabled. I love going out with the missionaries and sharing the message of hope and truth to the world so that everyone will all least have the choice to choose what is right in their lives. I do my home teaching, which helps strengthen those families in the ward who might be struggling with their testimonies and invite them to come back onto Christ, our Savior. I take my wife every month to the temple to help redeem the dead. Those who lived on this Earth, but never had the chance to hear the truth. I am a High Priest serving on the high council, which give me many opportunities to help share the messages of the gospel throughout our Stake given by our Prophet and support the Bishops as they try to build their membership in their own wards. I know by paying an honest Tithes and Fast Offering I help those who are in need and build my Father's Kingdom here on this Earth. I obey the Word of Wisdom, which helps keep my body, a temple, clean so the Holy Spirit can dwell and guide me. The best thing I can do is be an example for those to follow. I am a loving father to my children as I teach them how to build a strong foundation and testimony before they have to move on into that stage of life where we all have to make choices to live by.
