Hi I'm Benjamin

I live in México, I study arquitecture. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old, I served a full-time mission in Hermosillo, México, where, i believe, the Lord helped me set the foundation for my future life. I currently attend college and study arquitecture. I chose arquitecture because I love the idea that I can create something from scratch, and that this may help other people in their lives. I love playing basketball ever since my brother taught me how to bounce a basketball. I love the scriptures, and I enjoy reading the Book of Mormon once and once again, for it applies to every situation we face in life; scriptures, and prayer, have always been my "escape" from the pressures of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because fortunately, i had the blessing of being born into an LDS family. My father is a convert to the church in Mexico, and my mother comes from a long line of faithful LDS families. I chose to follow my parents faith and live according to their testimony, until I obtained my own. I was 18 years old when I began to desire my own true testimony of the Church, I had always felt good and lived Church standards, but I needed to start living according to MY own convictions, not my famiy´s. I spent at least 6 months reading the Book of Mormon and praying every single night, asking the Lord for my own testimony, and to know that the Book of Mormon was true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. For months I felt happyness and joy, for everytime I prayed, Gospel related memories of my life came to my mind. This happened every night, but I kept expecting a sign or a manifestation of some kind. One night, after months of reading and prayer, I clearly FELT a voice in my mind and in my heart that said: "Benjamin, have I not answered your prayers time and time again, you have a testimony of your own, you´ve had it for quite a while now, it´s time you recognize that." My eyes filled with tears of joy and I thanked the Lord for helping me recognize the testimony that I had of his true Gospel, and from that day on, I´ve tried to live up to His expectations. We all have our own weeknesses, I´ve certainly had stumbles in my life, but thanks to the testimony I have obtained, and with the Lord´s help, I now that we can be cleansed, that Heavenly Father loves us, and that the Lord Jesus Christ is our Savior and Reedemer, and has suffered, thay we may not suffer, if we repent.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Ward Mission Leader, which means i work directly with the pair of missionaries in my ward, and I have been since I returned from my own mission in 2008, and I love to help the missionaries. The joy that comes from serving others, cannot be compared to any other feeling I´ve ever had. Even though my calling can be hard at times, I try to keep up the good work, for I have seen miracles as I serve and help other children of God.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of this life is to be happy. God has created a plan for us to be happy, but we must trust in Him and do as He commands. If we but obey God´s commandments, and serve others as we go on in life, we will find true happiness, even in times of trial. Show more Show less
