Hi I'm Kelly

I am of pioneer heritage and because of my noble ancestors I am grateful to be able to say, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For me, its all about family. I come from a strong family unit, and have tried to create that same family closeness with my husband and 5 children. We now enjoy 7 grandchildren and counting. Growing up, my family loved to camp. We have instilled that love in our own children and have enjoyed God's creations together on a yearly basis. We tease that in order to marry into our family you better like camping. Some of my most fond memories are around a campfire, late night talks in the tent, Sunday morning gospel lessons taught under the pine trees, and testimonies shared, finished with "How Great Thou Art". To quote my father, "It doesn't get any better then this". My husband and I have had the opportunity to travel a bit, mostly due to some interesting places our children served their missions. It has given me a huge appreciation for the beauties of this world, and for God's children world wide who are striving to blossom where they are planted. I also love to put together slide shows. I'm not a scrapbooker, but I do enjoy arranging all our photos on the computer put to music. I also enjoy creating wedding videos, special event videos for church, and a "this is your life" video together for special birthdays.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel it a privilege to live in these latter days, even though the world is full of so much evil, I see the amazing blessings the Lord continually pours out upon those who strive to keep his commandments. I have many pioneer ancestors who left wonderful journals. They fought a hard fight to hold fast to their testimonies of Jesus Christ and his restored gospel and I will do my part to keep the truth of the gospel alive in their posterity. I can't imagine trying to get through this life without the knowledge I have of who I am, where I came from, and where I am going after this life. The blessing of knowing that my family can be together forever gives me the strength to keep the commandments and to follow God's plan for me. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is just that. His church. I've always known it. It not only makes sense to me intellectually, but spiritually. The Holy Ghost has born witness to me of its truth.

How I live my faith

I recently was asked to be the president of the women's organization in our church. This is a big task, and one that can be very time consuming. I felt over-whelmed and unqualified for such a responsibility. It is amazing how the Lord can help us overcome fears and weaknesses if we are willing to put ourselves in his hands. Its only been six months but I am amazed at how quickly my understanding of how the Lord works through his servants has become so much clearer. We really are here to help each other through this life. That's what it is all about. I am grateful to belong to His church.
