Hi I'm Rachel

I am a teacher. I'm a mother and wife. I'm a pianist, and I am a mormon.

About Me

I have two crazy and funny daughters, 7 and 4 1/2 (don't forget the 1/2) and a great husband. I live in Colorado and absolutely love it! I grew up in Colorado and my family moved to Texas when I was 13, but I ended up back here after getting married. I attended BYU and got a bachelor's degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development. We love to be in the mountains, whether we are skiing, driving, hiking, or just hanging out, and take our kids to see the sights around this beautiful state. I am currently the typical soccer mom at night, which includes swimming, soccer, and girl scouts. I teach preschool and piano lessons and substitute teach elementary school, and I also stay home with my daughter a couple of days a week.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my entire life. I have two wonderful parents, in addition to other people, who were great examples to me growing up of how to live a righteous life. As I have gotten older and my testimony has increased, I know that it is because of those examples that I am where I am today. I know that my Savior knows and loves me individually, just as he knows and loves each of you individually. I want to teach my children to have strong testimonies and love the gospel as much as I do. I know that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven again someday if I live right and have faith in Him.

How I live my faith

I strive to live the principles of the gospel each day in the things I do and say. I play the piano each week for the church choir and the primary children. I try to do my visiting teaching by visiting women each month to befriend them and give them my perspective on a gospel principle, but am not perfect at it yet. I would like to be a perfect visiting teacher someday, and am continuing to work on that. I love my family, I love to work hard and help others. I try to serve my friends and neighbors in the things that I do. I feel that it is important to help others understand our beliefs and our principles. I have faith that by doing the things I have been taught that those around me will know that people who belong to our church are good, hardworking people who love and believe in Jesus Christ. My husband and I try very hard to read scriptures and pray with our kids each day so that they will learn to live the gospel and make good choices in their lives. I am so grateful for the sacrifice that my Savior made for each one of us and for the great example of love, charity, and service that He was and is to me and to each of us.
