Hi I'm Shey

I am a recent father and college grad. I love to bike and play sports. I can speak Hungarian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four kids in my family. My wife and I recently had our first child. We couldn't be happier being able to raise our little man. I just received my undergraduate degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from Brigham Young University. Eventually, I hope to go into hospital administration. I love spending time with my wife and baby boy. I love playing sports and watching sports, especially football and basketball. I also am big into biking and have done a couple of triathlons. I love to have fun and be around people. I have been involved in various leadership and service organizations.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what I have experienced as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through reading the Book of Mormon, praying and attending church I was able to gain an answer of the truthfulness of the church in my mid-teenage years. Because of this I decided to serve a mission for my church in Budapest, Hungary. On the mission I realized even more why I believed in the things I do. I have been faced with different challenges since then, but I have always been able to have hope and faith because what I have come to know to be true. I know who Jesus Christ is and how I need Him as my Savior. I feel a personal connection to Him and my Heavenly Father. I know their plan for me and the expectations that have been set. I know of their unconditional love and forgiveness when I fall short. I have seen my membership in the church not only impact me for the better, but my family and other loved ones. I know I can be with my wife and family forever through the gospel of Jesus Christ that was restored through Joseph Smith. As I continue to learn and grow in the gospel I have a more strong desire to follow Jesus Christ. This continues to make me happy. It helps me understand who I am, where I came from, and my divine potential as a son of a loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I know that true faith leads to action. I try and serve in my community through various programs the community and my school has to offer. I currently teach Hungarian at one of our church's missionary training centers. I teach young men and young women from the age of 18-21 who have volunteered their time and resources to serve the Lord for a two year mission. They serve out of their own desire and receive no payment for the service they give.
