Hi I'm Dannine

I grew up in Missouri. I'm a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southeast Missouri in a relatively small town. Since I'd always been a good student and a bit of a workaholic, I was awarded a scholarship to the local university where I received a degree in Home Economics/Interior Design. I hoped to be a wife and mom someday and was hopeful that my degree would help me find satisfaction being a "stay at home mom" if the opportunity presented itself. I married my sweetheart after I returned from serving a mission for the church in Spain, and am now the mother of 4 boys and 2 girls, as well as a grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter and 2 darling grandsons. During my married life, our family has had quite a few work related moves. We've lived in Washington, Texas, Minnesota and Arizona. While we've seen some extremes in climates, one thing that has been constant is that God has always surrounded us with phenomenal friends and neighbors...people who share our love of the Lord if not our specific faith.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was "born into the church", I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today because I have discovered for myself that the gospel it teaches is true. As I have studied the teachings of Christ and of his prophets--past and present--and have put these teachings into practice in my own life, I have come to know that they are true. The one sure path back to our Heavenly Father is to follow his Son, Jesus Christ. I am reassured of my Heavenly Father's love as I see his careful attention to detail to ensure our earthly success if we will just listen and follow His Son. It is a blessing to know that God loves us today as much as those who came before us in Biblical times by giving us a prophet and apostles to give us direction and encouragement in the times and challenges that we face today.

How I live my faith

I currently teach high school kids in a "release-time" scripture study class. I love their insights as we discuss ways to remain steadfast and true like some of their scripture heroes--Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Daniel and others. I enjoy doing volunteer work--making quilts for different charities, or knitted hats for underprivileged kids in colder regions.
