Hi I'm Yuki Dorff

I am Half-Japanese. I laugh a lot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Yuki Dorff. My name easily describes who I am. Yuki is Japanese for "snow" which is derived from my formal name, "Fuyuka" which means snow flower. My last name is German, but mostly, I like to think of myself as Japanese-American. I am currently a student at BYU-Idaho, which is a LDS school, where a majority of students are LDS. Because of the similar religion, I am able to study at a school where religion and secular education can be learned together. I also love that we all have similar values, so smoking and drinking...and all other negative stuff, is avoided in my everyday life. I am studying graphic design. I love art and everything that is fascinating to look at. I am always creating something. I travel a lot too. I know the world has a lot to offer, and I do my best to learn al I can. I enjoy going on runs, reading books (when i have time), baby-sitting kids, laughing, shopping, pulling weeds, and anything really. I enjoy being productive and trying new things. i love spending time as a family. What I love most would be making others laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't know who I would be if I wasn't Mormon. I mean, I live my life according to the teachings of His church. If it wasn't for this gospel, I truly believe I would not be as happy as I am today. When times are hard in my life (just like they are for everyone) I always turn to the gospel. I have been blessed to have scriptures to read, that give me guidance and direction in life. I have learned of Heavenly Father, Holy Ghost and Jesus Christ. He has power to heal and comfort me in times of need. I have felt His love, and it is undeniable. This church has helped me realized that I am on earth to help others come to Christ. I say this because, coming unto Christ is honestly the best way to gain happiness. To understand His love for us, and what we can do to be more like Him, has always added encouragement to my life. The church testifies of truth, and I have felt it. Since I have felt it, I have never even been tempted to deny it. I know this church is true, and every single doctrine that we live by. Sometime there are concepts that are hard to believe, or things about this church that may be hard to understand. I have felt the truth of this gospel, and regardless of little things I struggle with, i know this church is true.

How I live my faith

I try to live with Christ-like attributes. He is loving at all times. I try to treat people as every single person is special. Of course I become impatient or annoyed. But I learn to gain even more love for the individual, and in return, I gain so many blessings. I love following the word of wisdom and teaching others to also live healthy lives as we try to protect our precious bodies that God has blessed us with. I dress modestly to respect myself and others around me. I am frugal in the thing I purchase. I always and give the Lord 10% of my income. That money goes toward helping those in need, building temples, and missionary work. I know my tithing that I pay goes much further, but these are just a few of the uses that it goes toward. I strive to live a righteous life. I want to be an example to those around me, because i want others to know of my faith. So they too, can come unto Christ and feel it's happiness that it brings to me.
