Hi I'm Lauren

I'm ambitious, creative, friendly, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student, pursuing a degree in dental hygiene. I enjoy music and theatre, especially playing the piano and singing. I also enjoy reading, swimming, dancing, bike riding, hiking and creative craft projects. My favorite color is aqua blue, and I am a vegetarian.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the overwhelming confirmation of the spirit telling me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church and contains the fullness of the gospel. Living a righteous lifestyle brings me peace and joy in a way that no other experience could possibly bring. I am happy, and I feel as though my life has purpose. I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father and that He loves me, so much that He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to atone for my sins. Because of Christ's atonement, I know that I can become perfected, and that I am not alone in my trials and tribulations. It is comforting to have the spirit with me in my times of need, and to know that I will return to live with God and my family in the eternal life to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my daily thoughts, words and actions. Every choice I make reflects my faith, and I try to be a righteous example to the people surrounding me. As I participate in church activities, such as the religious institute classes for young adults, I learn and grow as a spiritual person and become more capable to do the will of the Lord.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Lauren
We recognize the Book of Mormon to be scripture, or in otherwords, it was revealed by God to prophets on the earth. Just as the Bible is the old and new testament, the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, testifying that He lived and is the Son of God. It is the account of ancient civilizations on the American continent and their prophets. It contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I encourage you to read the Book of Mormon, and follow the directions found in Moroni 10:4 to sincerely pray about it to know by the Holy Ghost that it is true. Show more Show less

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Lauren
You will find in attending a Mormon church service, that we may be similar in some ways to other Christian church services you may have attended in the past. Some differences you may notice include the reverence of our worship as we sing hymns, offer prayers and listen to speakers. Our speakers are general members of the church, who hold a variety of callings and offices, speaking on a variety of gospel subjects. We also partake of the sacrament (similar to communion), prepared bread and water, which is blessed and passed by priesthood holders to those in attendance who wish to partake. We also participate in a number of offered Sunday meetings including Sunday School, a women's group called Relief Society, a men's group called Priesthood, and a Children's group called Primary. I encourage you to attend a church service. You will find that your presence is welcome, and you will feel the spirit and the peace that it brings. Show more Show less
