Hi I'm Emily

I'm a mama & a wife. I'm cheap. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I've been told I am what everyone thinks of when they think "Mormon," but so you know---I'm kinda far from it. I do have four kids, I am happy in my marriage to a guy I met right out of high school, I drive a minivan, and I'm thrifty. But really, deeper--my kids fight with each other, and sometimes say bad words, my hubby is a convert to the church and it's lucky we even found each other, and I'm cheap, oh, I mean thrifty, because I wanna be.

Why I am a Mormon

But I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church and ultimately the right church for me. When I follow the plan my Savior has set out for me, I am happy. Really happy. Like, "wake up in the morning and hug my kids, do the dishes with a smile and whistle"... kind of happy. The teaching are true. As a kid, I thought my parents were members of the church becasue their parents were. Now, as a parent myself, I know they were, and are, members because it's true. The Lord loves me, and he wants me to be happy. When I read the Book of Mormon, and live by it's teachings, I feel at peace. My days go smoother, my kids fight less, they get on my nerves less often, our home is fun to be in. I know all of that happiness is from living the way Heavenly Father and Jesus want me to--and teaching my kids that knowledge is so important. It will make them better husbands, wives, co-workers, and people. I know my Savior lives and loves me. He answers my prayers--individually. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I am grateful for my blessings and recognize the hand of the Lord in my life!

How I live my faith

I'm the food and canning specialist at church and try to help people find easy, inexpensive, practical way to prepare their families to eat the same way they are now if there was ever an emergency. I like to create new recipes and share them with my friends and neighbors. I take meals to those in need and volunteer my time as much as I can. I really try to be a part of every organization I am around.
