Hi I'm Heidi

I like reading, gardening, traveling and tap dancing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California. (I love the beach and Disneyland.) I graduated from college with a major in English and minor in zoology. I worked as a technical writer for awhile. Currently, I work harder than ever raising five children under the age of 12. I enjoy taking dance classes and reading for fun. I would much rather be outside shoveling snow or planting flowers than inside doing the dishes.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where one parent was a member of the LDS church and the other was not. Being raised by parents with opposing beliefs and values can really create disorder, discontent and confusion. By the time I was 12, I was ready to make a decision and stop living in both worlds. I prayed, received confirmation of the truth of the gospel and I have never ever looked back. If anything, my testimony of the gospel has only gotten stronger as I have observed the consequences of my choices in relation to others close to me. The gospel brings hope, peace, contentment and satisfaction.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always make rightoeus choices and to do the things that are asked of me. I have a brand, new "job" in my church's congregation that I have never done before. I essentially will be making lots of phone calls checking in with the adult women in our congregation to see if they have been out and about checking up on other women in our congregation. Visiting with other women in their homes or at the park or another such place is an opportunity to teach, to listen, to aid and generally provide service or relief where needed. This service could be simple such as babysitting for an afternoon or bringing in a meal or it could require more effort such as helping with an illness or helping someone network to find a job.
