Hi I'm Tyler

I am a husband, a father of 3 girls and a SWAT cop. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Morgan Hill, California with 2 brothers and 1 sister. My parents raised me in the LDS church, which I am thankful for. I was raised in a loving home and spent my time playing sports, earning my Eagle Scout and working on cars. In High School, I owned 5 different cars, all of which I repaired and sold for profit. I served a 2 year mission for the LDS church in Tempe, AZ. My loving wife, whom I dated in high school, waited for my return and we were married shortly after my mission. We moved to Arizona, where she teaches school and I work for a local police department for the past 10 years. I have worked as a field training officer, street crimes enforcement squad, explorer advisor, detective, firearms instructor and on the SWAT team as a sniper. I love my job and all the eye opening experiences that come with it. When I am not working, I am spending time with my family on vacations, predator hunting, fishing, backpacking or at the gym. I love raising my three daughters and love to spend quality time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church. Many years ago, my ancestors pushed a hand cart across the country to settle in the Salt Lake Valley. Even though my family has been involved in the church for many years, it was my decision to be a member. I love the opportunities that the church provides to serve other people. I am grateful to be raised with good morals and want to pass the same morals on to my daughters. As a police officer, I see people struggle on a daily basis. I have found it my calling in life to provide solutions and support to those people. I have a testimony that GOD lives and Jesus is the savior of the world. I try to live my life in a way that shows faith and integrity. I have found peace from reading from the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. It certainly is not easy to be a member of the church. I am challenged and held accountable. I am taken out of my comfort zone frequently and asked to share my "feelings." I can not think of any better way to learn and grow as a person.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite parts of being a member of the LDS church is being involved. I have served in many capacities from teaching the toddlers in the church nursery to teaching the adults in sunday school. I especially liked teaching the teenagers and I think they liked hearing my police stories too. I am assigned to watch over a few families and visit them at least once a month to ensure they are doing well. I enjoyed serving my 2 year mission. I feel that I matured rapidly and learned a great deal about myself and my savior during that period of time.
