Hi I'm Kara

I'm a stay at home wife and mother learning to use my time wisely. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a new mother to a baby boy. My husband and I have been married for almost five years. I'm finding motherhood and homemaking fits me like a glove after quitting an office job I loved working at for three years. I love reading the classics, trying new recipes in the kitchen, doing family history research, and playing the piano. My husband and I love to mountain bike, snow ski, and enjoy the outdoors together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon from the day I was born, but gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel principles I was taught through praying to my Heavenly Father. Even as a young girl I felt the love of my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, and knew they had a plan for me in this life. I know the church I belong to is Jesus Christ's restored church upon the earth today. I know it was restored by a true prophet of God, Joseph Smith, and that it is lead by a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, today. I know God speaks through His prophets and reveals His word through them and through the scriptures including The Book of Mormon. I have read the Book of Mormon numerous times and each time I read I know through prayer that it is true and it is from God. I know Jesus Christ atoned for me and broke the bonds of death so we could all be resurrected and be able to live with God again. I know Jesus Christ lives and is the Son of God and and Savior of mankind. I know the principles and ordinances taught through His church are the way to return to His presence and be with our families forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through personal prayer and scripture study each day, and attending church each week. I also stay involved with my family, neighbors and community to do what I can to serve them. I volunteer as a Den Leader in the Cub Scouts for the nine year old boys in my neighborhood. I visit with women in my neighborhood regularly to develop friendships and give service. I also enjoy attending the temple frequently to learn and serve.
