Hi I'm Chelsey

I grew up in Utah. I study at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time college student studying history teaching and I love it. I enjoy reading, running, shopping, traveling and spending time with my friends and family. I also love being a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. I have travelled to various countries in Europe and Central America and have always enjoyed my experiences there.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon household. I knew that I had to gain my own testimony of the gospel and not rely on my parents testimonies. I started my personal study of the Book of Mormon when I was twelve years old. At the end of the book, in Moroni chapter ten, verse four, we are challenged to ask God, the Father, in the name of His son, Jesus Christ if the things that we have read are not true. I did just that. And I received a witness through the Holy Ghost that yes, the Book of Mormon is true. I continue to read the Book of Mormon everyday and I still know that it is true. It is an amazing tool that can really work in your life. Every answer to every question can be found in the Book of Mormon! It is amazing. When I'm going through a hard time, reading the scriptures always calms my fears, helps me to feel the love of my Heavenly Father and helps me keep an eternal perspective. The Book of Mormon also helps me to understand the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know he atoned for my sins, personally, and that it is only through Him that I can be saved. I also know that my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ loves me. I also know that my Father in Heaven loves me. These things give me strength and courage as well as happiness and cheerfulness to endure my life well. I also know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, and that he restored the fulness of the gospel. I also know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. Joseph Smith was a prophet. We also have a living prophet today, President Monson. I truly believe that he does receive revelation directly from the Lord concerning the affairs of the Church. The Church is amazing! It's so wonderful to be a part of. I love knowing that I am loved and noticed by a divine Father in Heaven. I can receive personal revelation through the Holy Ghost and I love that too! It's amazing and wonderful. Knowing that my Redeemer lives, loves me, and is a part of my life, is the sweetest kind of life.

How I live my faith

One of the things I get to do in my ward is be a visiting teacher. My roommate and I are in charge of visiting the same two girls a month and see how they are doing. I love getting to know these girls! Being there for them if they ever need anything is important to me. I love how the church is concerned with it's members. We try our best to look out for each other, to help one another and make sure that everyone knows they are important and needed.
