Hi I'm Daniel Lewis

I'm a Boy Scout, crazy Piano playing enthusiast, homeschooled student, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi! My name is Daniel, I am 18. I currently live in Texas. I have been homeschooled since the 5th grade, and I have been accepted to BYU and BYU-Idaho. I plan on attending one of these schools after my LDS mission to Baltimore. I am a complete nerd about The Legend of Zelda, the Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and the Chronicles of Narnia. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. I enjoy the outdoors. I love doing yardwork: mowing lawns, trimming trees and hedges, planting flowers, etc. I have worked for a Boy Scout summercamp in Idaho, and I love hiking and camping and admiring the beauty of earth. I have played the piano for 14 years or so. I enjoy it whole-heartedly! Music is a great passion of mine, and it speaks to my soul when words cannot. I also enjoy singing, though I'm not the best. :) I plan on studying either Marketing, Communications, or Music Theory in College.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon--a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints--because I believe it to be the Gospel of Jesus Christ as He organized it in His time. I believe this Gospel to be His--it makes sense to me, as it answers questions about who I am and the purpose of life more fully than other religions. I have felt His love for me as I strive to follow His will, and it has brought a better outcome in my life so far than if I wasn't a Christian--more love and Joy in my life.

How I live my faith

I have loved the Gospel for my whole life. I am currently in a leadership and organizational position within the 16-18 year old young men. I have been called to serve a mission in Baltimore. I always try to live the way Christ would like me to, and I try to set an example for my peers. Christ asks us to follow His commandments and be kind and loving to those who surround you (as well as everybody else whom you come in contact with) and I have tried to do this in every situation.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Daniel Lewis
Atheism is the Belief that there is no God, or the uncertainty of knowing if there is a God. But I believe that there is a God, and that this God is our loving Father in Heaven who has given us many 'proofs' (for lack of a better word) that He is there. I find it amazing as I live my life that daily I see His handiwork and His creations, and they are so full of wonder that I can only conclude that there was a plan as to how to create these marvels. And the creator of the plan, the architect of our universe, from the stars to the insects, is God. But we will not see this if we don't look for it. Think of a flower. Think of the Human Brain. Think of the planets in the solar system. Think of the mountains and trees around the world. think of the emotion that we as humans share--the joy, the wonder, the sorrow, the pain, the love and happiness. What is the point of it all if there wasn't a plan? There would be no point. But as I see all of these things, I stand in awe in the majesty of it all, and the detail and beauty of it. and then I think of why we are here--the Plan that God laid in order--and I am filled with joy! I believe in God because I have felt Him, confirming to me that He is there. His Creations are so simple, yet so complex, that chance could not have brought it. The complexity of gravity, light, emotion, geology, and the like, yet in turn there individual simplicity, 'prove' to me that He is there. Show more Show less
