Hi I'm Katie

I'm a wife. I'm a mom. I'm a college graduate. I'm an Italian/American. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a silly girl. I run into walls, break glasses, nearly always have a stain or spill on some particle of clothing, forget diapers, forget to paint the toes on my other foot, I sing in the shower or sometimes in an empty public restroom, I love hot dogs & books, I love my friends, I love my family, I love talking to new people, and I love Jesus Christ. I'm 25, I'm a college graduate, and a mom to one giggly chubby little girl. Most importantly, I'm madly in love with the sweet, freckle-faced, red-headed boy I married four years ago.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother grew up being taken to church by her grandfather, an Italian protestant pastor. My father grew up in an Irish Catholic family of 11 children that all attended parochial schools. When they were married, the mesh of belief systems resulted in personal and private worship for each. I am forever grateful for my uncle who converted to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and persistently sent the Mormon Missionaries to my parent's door. They were skeptical investigators and met nearly 10 years worth of missionaries before they felt they'd found the truth and were baptized. Just 2 years later, I was born-a first generation Mormon. I have witnessed the difference Jesus Christ's gospel can make in a life. It has made all the difference in mine. My own testimony did not come easy. I'd been taught what my parents knew to be true, but I had questions. I didn't let the questions linger and ferociously pursued answers. I read the Book of Mormon, I attended church and asked opinions on doctrine, most importantly I fell on my knees in hard and earnest prayer and tried to have an open heart. I know this is Jesus Christ's true church, restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, and that we have a living prophet to guide us today. I know with everything I've got that Our Father in Heaven loves us, and answers our prayers. I am a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints because it brings me peace & happiness.

How I live my faith

I'm currently a teacher to, and get to hang out with a bunch of 14 & 15 year old girls. They are beautiful and bright and teach me so much in return! I teach and visit with a few awesome ladies in our ward on a monthly basis so that we can check up on each other, provide service when needed, and gain strength from each other. At home, I sing songs about God and his plan for us with my daughter. Each night my husband and I kneel with her in prayer before we put her in bed. She folds her chubby arms and is quiet for about 5 seconds before she gets squirmy and we have to finish the prayer a midst her happy little squeals. When My husband and I turn in, we pray together. Privately, I pray constantly. My dad used to call me a 'worry wart' and the truth of this is manifested as I openly confide in a loving Heavenly Father about all of my legitimate struggles, far-fetched fears, and itsy bitsy worries. I ask for guidance, I ask for help improving, I ask for my family to be kept safe. I share important parts of my life and thank Him for so very very many blessings. I have always considered our Father in Heaven a personal friend of mine and I love to talk to Him. When I feel lost, empty & completely hopeless, I feel my Heavenly Father close in prayer. I am wrapped in loving arms and filled up with peace & love.
