Hi I'm Shay

I'm a Wife, a Mother, a Nurse, forever a Student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy wife, and mother of five. That's blast in and of itself! But just in case I may get bored sometimes... I work at a community hospital a couple days a week. I enjoy having the opportunity to serve people outside my home, and outside my immediate sphere of influence. These are people of all races, religions, and backgrounds. People with so many different stories to tell. At home as well as at work I face a great variety of challenges and learning experiences. Whenever I have a free moment (or not), I find myself enrolled in school to further my knowledge and understanding and to be able progress in my goals in the nursing field. As a matter of recreation, I love to run and I find myself getting better at it as I stick with it even though I'm not the fastest and can't run as far as others. I love being outdoors and enjoy visting with friends and family. Basically if it sounds like a good time, it sounds like a plan!

Why I am a Mormon

I made the decision to come to church after a great deal of thought and prayer. I had been away from church for 6 years. There was no doubt that my life could be headed in a better direction. So I prayed to God to know what to do and to know where, if anywhere, I should worship. I was ready to listen. I was ready to go wherever it was He would have me go. I walked into church one Sunday, sat on the back row to avoid attention, and listened. I don't remember exactly what the speakers said that day, but I'll never forget the confirming witness of the Holy Ghost. Any questions I had were answered, and there was no doubt in my mind that my Heavenly Father wanted me there. I have since continued to search the scriptures, ponder, and pray; and so my testimony and relationship with the Savior grow and deepen everyday. I'm so thankful for a loving Father who is aware of each and every one of us, for the atoning sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ, and for the gift of forgiveness. I'm grateful to be led by a prohet today, and for the clarity and joy that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to my life. I love belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! That's why I'm a Mormon. :)

How I live my faith

I teach the women's group once a month. I think I learn as much or more than those I teach! For several years before accepting this calling I served in the children's group. I loved to serve the children and watch them grow. They are amazing! I study the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the words of prophets with my family and individually. I bring my understanding of our Saviors love for all God's children with me and try to serve and lift others as He would.
