Hi I'm Shannon

I'm a wife & at home mother of 3. I'm a professional wedding and portrait photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of all girls, was always "one of the guys", and loved to play sports, especially soccer. I married my best friend and High School sweetheart, and we've since been blessed with 3 beautiful (albeit very active) children. I'm a visual artist, passionate about photography. I own and operate my own photography business and enjoy working a craft that allows me to be at home full time to raise my children and enjoy so much time with family. I love adventures outdoors, to alter and sew outfits you can't find on a rack, and designing beaded jewelry. I'm fascinated with anything vintage, enjoy spending time with family, and look forward to the one-on-one time with my husband every Friday night for our date.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad belonged to the Pentecostal church and my mom attended the Methodist church. When I was about 4 they were introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Mormons. They didn't take their conversion lightly and did considerable investigation with them and their beliefs. The spirit of God testified to them after much prayer and studying the Book of Mormon. This church brought many things to light that they'd always felt in their hearts to be true, independent of their other religious teachings. It also greatly expanded upon their previous religious understanding. As members we are encouraged to gain a testimony of our own in this church and not rely on that of our parents or others in all aspects of its teachings. I too have read the Book of Mormon several times and it literally is a companion to the Holy Bible. I continue to have the Spirit of God testify of the truthfulness of this gospel and its teachings in my life in both simple and powerful ways. It is truly an amazing gospel and a blessing to live.

How I live my faith

Like anyone else I live one day at a time and try to do my best for my family and myself. I work hard, try to maintain and raise a close and loving family, contribute in society and my community, I serve in various rolls in my church, and strive to be nearer to God and Christ in the way I live my life. There is a lot of chaos and corruption in this world to try to raise a strong and righteous family in. By living by the principles of Christ’s gospel outlined in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I find the much needed peace, strength, protection and direction to fortify and carry me through difficult times, as well as good. I feel more fully prepared for whatever might lie ahead, and better able to get through it when it does. We have a prophet of God and his 12 Apostles leading and directing this church in accordance to God’s will, and not to mans. They speak with power and authority from God. The Spirit confirms this to me. I do not doubt it. Having that kind of direction along with personal prayer, and the scriptures all help me to enrich and fortify myself and my family against the whirlwinds and storms of life that we all must pass through time and time again. I can’t imagine doing it without these precepts found only in this particular faith.
