Hi I'm Joshua

I grew up in Frameries, Belgium and Prattsville, Arkansas, where I learned to serve my Savior. I love my family and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the baby boy in my family. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, Frameries, Belgium, and Prattsville, Arkansas. It may seem odd that I grew up all over the place, but as is the case with D.O.D. (Dept. of Defense) families, we learned to go with the flow. I was born of "Goodly Parents," who taught me about my Savior Jesus Christ. The taught me from the Bible and the Book of Mormon, that through my Savior, I can be happy in this life, and live with my family forever. My parents both found the Gospel before they met one another, but I attribute our family's happiness to that wonderful decision. Because I was raised in the Church, from a young age I was taught all about it, however I did not have my own testimony of the Gospel until I hit a very low point in my Junior Year of High School. I stopped believing in God, or at least I tried to tell myself that He wasn't there, however He kept calling me back to the fold. Time and time again He called me, and over and over I wondered off again. It wasn't until I came to know FOR MYSELF that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true that I found True peace in my life. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. Anyone can find true peace in their lives if they will turn to Christ and follow His commandments. The Gospel is simple, the Gospel is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon first of all because I was raised as one, I am not walking in the shadow of my parents faith, I have come to know that This Church is true for myself! I have chosen to be a Mormon because I know that this is the Lord's True Church on the Earth today! and that we have a living Prophet who receives the revelations of God. I am a Mormon because it is True!

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. I find that as I strive every day to do what Jesus wants me to do, then I find direction. I try to avoid the things which will cause me pain, just like you shouldn't touch a stove which is hot, there are certain things which will cause us Spiritual pain and injury. When I follow the counsel of The Savior, and of His servants the prophets, I find direction and satisfaction. I love to live my faith, and I try to be more like Jesus everyday, in the way I act, the way I speak, and the way I serve my fellow men and women. I want everyone to be as happy as I am, that is why I share my faith with those around me. Because I have found the source of true joy in my life, I want others to have it as well. The Book of Mormon really is a source of solace in my life, as I read it I am filled with the love of God. The Book of Mormon is Another Testament that Jesus is The Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the world. All I want is for others to know that also.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Joshua
The Book of Mormon is the word of God, like the Bible. It is Holy Scripture, with form and content similar to that of the Bible. Both books contain God's guidance as revealed to prophets as well as religious histories of different civilizations. While the Bible is written by and about the people in the land of Israel and surrounding areas, and takes place from the creation of the world until shortly after the death of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon contains the history and God’s dealings with the people who lived in the Americas between approximately 600 BC and 400 AD. The prophets in the Book of Mormon recorded God's dealings with His people, which were compiled by a prophet named Mormon onto gold plates. Show more Show less

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Joshua
Modesty, language and chastity are all connected in that our bodies are sacred creations made in the image of God. Therefore respecting this sacred gift means reserving physical intimacy for marriage between a man and woman, covering our bodies appropriately in dress and using language about the body that is always uplifting. Parents can teach their children that when they show respect for their bodies in this way, they can qualify to have the benefits of having the Holy Ghost with them. Show more Show less
