Hi I'm Shaleen!

I was born in Oklahoma. I'm a sister, Aunt, Runner and I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

I love to run, and play sports, and I would have to say that Ultimate Frisbee is my favorite sport ever!! Im in high school, and I do Cross Country!! It busy's up my schedule but I love the feeling of running, especially afterwards, you really feel great!! I have an amazing family, especially my sister:) She's amazing!! I have a beautiful niece that I just love to see whenever I can!! My favorite subject in school is Choir, where we get to just practice singing all day!! It really pays off to practice!! I looove my flute too of course!! I started playing it in Middle School where I constantly practiced it until I got to where I am right now!! My cousins also play the flute and my family loves whenever they come over cause we will all do trio's!! They are way better than me, but Im always trying to get to be as good as them!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, and was baptised at 8 by my father. I loved the feeling of going into the warm water and getting totally immersed, and at the same time being spiritually washed clean!! When I came out, it was really nice to be surrounded by people I knew and loved. I can still remember my Grandpa and Bishop and all the other speakers, I loved that they were talking directly to me:) I loved that it was *my* baptism. And again in sacrament meeting afterwards, when they announced me the newest member of the ward. As for my testimony, I love what was said in this last General Conference about how we don't keep our testimonies. They keep us, but we have to nourish them and feed them daily. That is so true, but I know that if we are constantly trying to do whats right, and are doing the daily things needed, like reading our scriptures, talking regularly to our Heavenly Father, and just nurturing and taking care of our testimonies as best we can, then we will be able to live with our Heavenly Father, and family members that have passed on, again and forever!!

How I live my faith

I love going to my mutual activities, and especially my ward on Sundays. Sometimes its hard, with Cross Country and everything, but I know that if we are where we are supposed to be, then Heavenly Father will bless us. I especially love the opportunities we get as a ward to serve and help pick up our community. I also love Young Women, when I get to be with all the other girls my age and up until we turn 18. We have such spiritual connections and fun!! And personal progress also helps me so much in building my testimony! I love my ward, and young women's program!
