Hi I'm Stacy

I'm a stay at home mom. All four kids are mine. I love it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom to four children, three boys and then a girl. They are the reason I get up in the mornings. I used to sing a lot... in front of people taller than 3 feet. Songs that weren't only about teapots and princesses. But I never felt more talented than when I sing to my kids and they clap or sing with me. When they fall asleep in my arms after a bad dream just because I sang their lullaby, I feel like no one has a better job than me. I was born a shopper. The thrill of the hunt for the best bargain around is soothing for me. I can spend hours browsing stores and comparing prices, returning one thing because I found it cheaper elsewhere. I wish I could get paid for that.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a daughter of the Utah pioneers on both sides of my family. I am proud to say that I was born into this church. I have amazing parents that taught me right from wrong. They taught me to love & serve others is to love & serve God. But I didn't always believe. I went through years of trying to figure out for myself what life was all about. Looking back at photos of me then I don't see happiness. I don't see a light about me. Then one day, on a dare, I went to church again with a college roommate. I will never forget the joy I felt. I felt loved and warm and safe. And pictures after that day show contentment, joy, and light in my eyes. I am grateful to that friend and to the friends I made in college who helped me to realize who I really am. I am a daughter of God. The same God who made the heavens and the earth and all things that in them are. He made me. He knows me. And He loves me. As a mother, there is nothing I want more than for my children to live happy and fullfilling lives. I want them to know who they are. I want them to treat others with the respect that children on God deserve. I want them to find the happiness and joy that comes only from knowing they are children of God. And that they have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who loves them so much that He laid down His life for them. He carried their burdens. And He will never leave them alone. As a wife I am grateful for a loving Father in Heaven who allows me the opportunity and priiveledge to live with my husband forever. It makes me want to be a better wife, a better mother, a better me.

How I live my faith

I love serving in my church. I have served the youth, the children and the women of the church in various callings over the years. And no matter how much I serve, I always feel that I am the one who is being blessed for it. Recently we had a national day of service throughout the church. I was blessed to be a "Project Manager" for a project where we sewed Christmas Stockings for the children in the Seattle area who would not be receiving much for Christmas without the Forgotten Children's Fund. I teamed up with one of the volunteers there and found that they needed 2000 stockings. We had families in the area bring fabric donations to the different church buildings over the beginning of the year. It was amazing to see how much fabric was collected. I called to Salt Lake and was able to receive a donation of fabric from the Bishop's Storehouse there and we had a college student who was driving home for a weekend visit pick up 15 bolts of fleece for the stockings. By the end of the day we had over 2000 stockings and 8 "Santa Bags" sewn and ready to deliver in November. It was one of the most rewarding service projects I have ever been a part of. In the times I have been able to work with the Young Women of the church I have had the desire to instill upon them who they are. Using familiar princess stories to teach them about being daughters of the Heavenly King was one of my favorite teaching opportunities. Many of those Young Women have grown and are now married. But when I see them they will remind me that they know who they are. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is simple. Children learn the teachings of their Savior from a very early age. I was blessed to teach them through music. The songs of the children have such simple messages, but messages we could all learn a lot from; I am a child of God, Families can be together forever, Kindness begins with me, When we're helping we're happy, I know Heavenly Father loves me, Choose the Right... So simple, yet so powerful.
