Hi I'm Ramona

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, a mother of two, and a daughter of God. I enjoy dance, sports, comedy, photography, and being outdoors.

About Me

I have always loved working with children. I am dedicated to my job. I work with very young children whose lives have been affected by drug abuse. These children I spend my days with have one or both of their parents enrolled in outpatient chemical dependency treatment. We have so much fun together. We play, do art, sing, and sometimes just rock together in the rocking chair. I love the children and parents I serve. I know they are all children of God. I am so happy to be blessed with the opportunity to help these families stay together. My love for those suffering with addiction is very personal. Drug addiction has caused a lot of pain in my own family. We have had successes and set backs in treatment. That is why I am so grateful to my Father in Heaven. I know through Him all things are possible. He is there to guide us and comfort us. He is there for all of us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My mom was a single mother of 6 and sometimes struggled with getting us there every Sunday morning. She taught us the gospel and was a great model of faith. I drifted away from the church as a young adult. When I was 22 one of my good friends began taking lessons from the missionaries at my house. As she took the lessons I listened too. I started joining in and even started to teach her too. She was baptized and I started going back to church. I have never left. I know the gospel is true. I still sometimes have questions about the gospel. I pray all the time. I receive such great comfort when I do. I know that one day I will receive all my answers. It is hard to explain why I feel this way. It is just an overwhelming feeling of peace.

How I live my faith

I enjoy talking about the gospel. I am always excited to answer questions about the church to those interested. I have taught young children in the church. Now, I teach the women's class once a month. When I first began teaching I was terrified to talk in front of people. I quickly learned to rely upon the Lord for comfort and guidance when I teach. I now love teaching and always learn so much from the lessons myself. It is a great blessing.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Ramona
Members of the church are not required to serve missions. Individuals volunteer to serve. I was not active in the church during my young adult years. I missed out on serving a full time mission then. I look forward to having that opportunity again when my husband and I retire. I dream of going on a mission to an African country but will go wherever I am needed. Show more Show less
