Hi I'm Jody

I was born in West Hollywood, moved to Washington State when I was ten, joined The Church when I was 29 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We are kind of like the "Brady Bunch" with his, mine and ours, three boys and three girls, but that is where the similarities end, we definitely don't have a housekeeper but instead we have grandpa living with us...it's a good trade! We have been married for almost 15 years and have lived in the same home nearly all that time which has been under construction since the day we moved in. My hubby and I are always dreaming up walls to move, rooms to build and dreaming of the chance to be on one of those do it yourself shows that come in and finish our projects for free. (maybe that's just my secret wish) I recently graduated with my associates degree and have transferred to a local university for my bachelors in Media and Communications. I have lost almost 60 pounds since January of this year using Weight Watchers and now have a new love for exercise especially The Rowing Machine. I LOVE all crafts, my favorite times with my family are spent crafting! I also LOVE giving service especially to the elderly, my daughter and I spend time each week at a local assisted living facility playing bingo with our ladies and we love them, they are like family to us now!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined The Church after meeting my future husband, I was not religious and he was...he was a Mormon. I knew he was different, good and solid and I knew I liked those differences and most of all I liked what he stood for, who he represented, the priesthood he held. I went right out and bought a Book of Mormon at a local used book store and read it, nothing has ever felt more right, I felt like I had just come home. Within four months I was baptized. My life changed instantly and I never looked back. My testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and my belief that I will be united with Him and my entire family for eternity makes my heart melt, that's Why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Service and charity are two things my family takes very seriously. We have raised our kids to enjoy helping others and seek opportunities to do so. Missionaries for dinner, dinners to sick friends and neighbors having tough times, cards and letters of support, balloons to a sick friend...all things we do. We pick up bread twice a month from a local bread store and share it with members in our community and church. I teach a class every Sunday at church and I love it! The kids I teach put a smile on my face and I am grateful for the chance to make a difference in their lives but am continually astonished at how much they make a difference in mine. I truly love them!
