Hi I'm Rhonda

I studied Speech at the Univ. of Iowa. I just learned how to surf at the North Shore. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to surround myself with friends and family. Going out to lunch with my husband is my favorite "date" with him. I have three teenagers that keep me busy being a mom. Sometimes we wish our kids would grow up and now I find myself wishing I could turn the clock back. My time with them is so precious as I know they are going to be on their own in a short time. I also love working out and staying active. My husband and I enjoy cycling together. Scrap booking is another one of my hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be! I was born and raised in the church so one might think I was just raised that way and stayed. But I had questions just like every other person and was converted to the Gospel by prayer and simple spiritual experiences that the Lord blessed me with to know this Gospel is true. I belong to a living Church with His Priesthood power restored to the earth. I have a strong testimony of prayer. I know Heavenly Father listens and answers our pleas. I know He doesn't always answer right away because if He did, we wouldn't grow and He wants that for us. I know I am His daughter, and His love for us surpasses anything my finite mind can comprehend. I know ALL of us are His children and we have the same opportunity to pray to Him and receive revelation to know what is best and right for us in our lives. I know the Book of Mormon is true, because when I read it I feel the Holy Ghost witness to me that it is true. I know that when I study and ponder it, along with the Bible, I receive guidance from God. By reading the scriptures we are learning our Father's will and how to keep their commandments. And by reading His words it gives us strength through His Son, Jesus Christ to make make good choices and be able to repent when we make mistakes. Why am I a Mormon? The short answer is simply because it's True!

How I live my faith

I love going to the temple to do saving ordinances for those who have gone on before us. I am so excited that the Gilbert AZ Temple is under construction and we have the opportunity to share in the open house and all the blessing that come with that. Sometimes we all need a helping hand or a friend, so once a month I visit a few friends (sisters) in my congregation and we share stories about life. My favorite part is when we get to share our love for our Savior, Jesus Christ and know that through HIm we can have peace and strength. For the past seven years I have worked with the children in our church, teaching them the basic principles of the Gospel through songs and lessons. I was also fortunate enough to be involved with helping the 8 year old children on their baptism day by organizing the music and talks for that day. These children radiate light and a pureness that blessed my life as I learned from their examples to "become as a little child." (Matt.18:3)
