Hi I'm Chris

I'm a nursing student and work with people who have disabilities, love sports, I'm a husband and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm currently studying full time at uni as a nursing student and loving it. I got married in 2008 in Sydney. We have one boy but he died not long after her was born. I love sports, especially AFL and the NBA. I love the Bombers and try to get to a game or two each year. My Mum lives in Arizona with her husband where they have run a business. My wife and I love to go and visit when we can. I have just started playing Basketball again after 10 years. I love playing sports. I enjoy bike riding and walking. I lived in the Philippines for 2 years as a missionary, it was awesome. My wife is Philippino, but we met in Sydney where we were married. An interesting fact about me is when I was younger, I was a state and national champion in 2 sports, rowing and weightlifting. I don't get much time to do that now though. But for my life is great.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon for myself. If I didn't have a testimony, I would not be a member of this church. I know that the teaching of this church are from God. I know that we have a living prophet on earth today. I know these things not because I simply asked God through prayer, but when I did, I did so with an open mind and an open heart, not with any prejudice in my heart or prayer. I know that those that pray with real intent wanting to know the truth will find it, just as I have. Life can be hard, but being a member of this church puts everything in this life into perspective.

How I live my faith

I help out our local Bishop. I help him in the things he needs to do as a Bishop. I am know as a councilor to the Bishop, kind of like his right hand man. I also work with the youth in our church. We have an activities night once a week where we might go swimming, have computer game nights or go to the Zoo. It's great fun. I also go and visit with 3 families once a month, just to see how they are doing and if there is anything I can help them with. These are members of our church. I might share something from the scriptures and leave a prayer with them. If they need anything I can help them with they will let me know and I will help them where I can.
