Hi I'm Emily

I'm a mom, a kindergarten teacher, and a rock climber. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a working mom who eats, sleeps, and drinks educating kids! I stay busy teaching kindergarten, running a Homework Club at a transitional housing facility, tutoring, teaching a group of 8 and 9 year olds in Sunday school, and raising my 18 month old son! In my "spare" time I enjoy playing volleyball, rock climbing, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I reflect on the things that make me most happy in life, I see that they are all directly related to my testimony and belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am happy because I understand my purpose here on the earth. I am happy because I know I have a Savior who loves me and atoned for my sins. I am happy because I know I can be with my family forever. I am happy because the gospel gives me direction and helps me to be a better person.

How I live my faith

One thing I love about being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that it is truly a lifestyle, and not just a one day a week commitment. I live my faith by doing just that, living my beliefs. When I was baptized at the age of eight I committed to stand as a witness of God at all times, in all things, and in all places. For me this means that I need to strive to live my beliefs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Although I often fall short, every week when I attend church I recommit myself, and strive to be a little better the next week.
